UPS Output Balance — Maintenance & Process Guide for the CN→LATAM Corridor

Release 14 · Maintenance / Process Guide · Audience: B2B green-tech trade operators · Reference equipment: Sungrow SH5/6/8/10/12T three-phase hybrid inverter (5–12 kW; pairs SBH100–400 / SBR064–256) — Reference corridor: China → Latin America · Evidence date: 2026-09-22 · Limitation: indicative only; broker/courier confirmation required for every numeric figure.

Verdict. Follow the 11-step sequence in §1 for a Sungrow SH5–12T three-phase hybrid inverter (5–12 kW, high-voltage battery) moving CN → LATAM. Indicative transit is 25–40 days sea or 3–7 days air; customs clearance adds 2–7 working days. All duty rates, HS subheadings and tax treatment are PENDING broker confirmation. Lithium-battery variants add IATA DGR (air) or IMO IMDG Code (sea) obligations on top of the standard export set.

Scope note. This page is a maintenance and process guide for a specific equipment model. It does not provide installation, commissioning or electrical-safety instructions. All electrical work must be carried out by qualified personnel under the rules of the destination country (e.g. NR-10 in Brazil, NOM-001-SEDE in Mexico). Numbers marked PENDING or UNCERTAIN are placeholders that must be replaced with broker-, forwarder- or OEM-confirmed values before the shipment is booked.

Important — limits. Any torque value on battery terminals, SOC window for transport (typical industry guidance 30–50 % SoC for lithium shipping per IATA DGR), or DC bus voltage (per SH-series datasheet 100–600 V battery class; SBH100–400 / SBR064–256 battery voltage windows as listed on the respective product pages) must be taken from the exact OEM user manual title + revision printed on the product pages listed above, not from this guide. This page is generic to the model family; the exact unit's manual governs.

8. Frequently asked questions

8.1 What does "UPS / inverter output balance" mean on this corridor?

It refers to keeping the unit's measured output (voltage, frequency, phase relationship and DC bus) within the tolerance band stated by the OEM datasheet, both before shipment from China and on arrival in the destination country in Latin America. For the named Sungrow SH-series reference unit (5–12 kW three-phase hybrid), the SH datasheet shows max efficiency 98 %, PV max 1000 V, 0 ms backup switchover and 200 % DC/AC overload — verify exact tolerance against the specific unit's OEM datasheet + manual revision.

8.2 Who should carry out the bench tests?

The CN pre-shipment bench test should be done by the supplier's qualified QA staff or a third-party inspector, using a regulated AC source and a calibrated multimeter. The arrival bench test should be done by the importer's qualified electrical staff or a contracted service partner at the LATAM warehouse. TradVolt does not perform the test itself and does not certify the result.

8.3 Is the HS code shown in this guide final?

No. The HS code field on this page is marked PENDING. Hybrid inverters can fall under different national subheadings depending on rating, battery integration and intended use (typical starting point 8504.40 under WCO HS 2022). The importer's licensed customs broker, or the destination customs authority, must confirm the correct HS code before the import declaration is filed.

8.4 Why are the freight and duty values marked PENDING?

Freight rates, bunker surcharges, destination handling fees and duty rates change by season, lane, carrier and country policy. TradVolt does not publish hard prices in maintenance guides because they would be wrong as soon as the next tariff revision is issued. Use the indicative cost slots to plan budget ranges, then request a firm quote through the corridor RFQ link.

8.5 Can this process also apply to lithium-battery (SBH / SBR) variants?

The step-sequence still applies, but SBH100–400 / SBR064–256 LFP battery units trigger additional rules for transport by sea (IMO IMDG Code) or air (IATA DGR):
