CN→EU Cable Bend Radius — Maintenance Process Guide (R14)

Verdict: Apply the OEM-published minimum bend radius rule Rmin = k × OD with two separate multipliers — a static (drum storage) multiplier and a dynamic (pulling/transfer) multiplier — across a 14-day door-to-door CN→EU corridor. For representative PV DC string cable used with Huawei FusionSolar SUN2000 series inverters, the Sungrow-compatible PV1-F / TUV 2 PfG 1169 PV cable family publishes static k = 6 and dynamic k = 10 on the outer diameter (OD, mm); the TradVolt R14 process treats these as illustrative family defaults, not model-specific limits, and requires the exact datasheet revision for the shipped cable before any torque, drum-core, or lashing value is committed. Equipment scope: photovoltaic DC string cable (PV1-F family, as used with Huawei SUN2000 and Sungrow SG string inverters) and 1–6 mm² single-core PV wire. Location: TradVolt R14 corridor (CN yard → rail → sea → EU port warehouse). Horizon: 14 days door-to-door. Evidence date: 2026-09-22. Limitation: this page is internal-facing (noindex) and every torque, multiplier, and HS figure must be re-verified against the current OEM datasheet and the EU TARIC lookup on each shipment.

6. HS code and duty block

Cable families typically fall under harmonised chapters used for insulated wire and cable. The applicable CN export code and EU TARIC measure must be confirmed per shipment.

HS / TARIC fieldValueStatus
CN export HS code (typical)8544 — Insulated wire, cablePENDING — confirm on CN customs export declaration
EU TARIC lookuphttps://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/dds2/taric/taric_consultation.jsp?Lang=enExternal lookup — verify per shipment
EU import duty ratePENDINGPENDING — depends on TARIC measure, preferential origin, and anti-dumping status

Disclaimer: HS classifications and duty rates shown above are placeholders pending verification against the EU TARIC consultation on each shipment. TradVolt does not provide customs or legal advice. Consult a licensed customs broker and the official EU TARIC and CN customs export databases before declaring.

7. Frequently asked questions

  1. Is the minimum bend radius (Rmin) the same for static storage and dynamic handling?
No. Cable manufacturers publish separate values for static (storage on drum) and dynamic (during pulling, bending, or transfer). Always check both on the OEM datasheet before computing Rmin. See Step 1.
  2. Why is the drum core diameter as important as the cable bend radius?
Because the cable wound on the innermost layer of the drum experiences the tightest curve. If the drum core is too small, the bend at the inside layer will fall below Rmin even if the cable looks correctly handled on the outside. See Step 4.
  3. What happens if the EU receival inspection finds a deviation?
The deviation is logged in r14-inspection-log.csv and escalated to the cable OEM and the TradVolt R14 corridor desk. Installation must be paused until the OEM confirms the cable is still within specification. See Step 10.
  4. Are the cost slots in this guide real prices?
No. All cost slots are indicative placeholders pending sourcing. TradVolt does not publish hard prices on internal guides. See Section 4.
  5. Why is this page set to noindex?
The guide is internal-facing while it is under editorial review by muse-ba. It will be flipped to indexable once the HS, duty, and cost slots are sourced and approved. See top note.

Figures flagged UNCERTAIN or PENDING must be sourced before this guide leaves the noindex state. "Internal TradVolt R14 historical data" was used in a prior draft as a transit-time basis and has been removed from this revision; corridor timeline is now a planning template only, not an empirical TradVolt claim. Lashing-torque and drum-handling lines carry an explicit "no certification claimed" disclaimer until the cable OEM datasheet revision is attached to the shipment file.

Editorial trailer: This document is the R14 cable bend radius maintenance process guide for the CN→EU corridor. Reviewed by the TradVolt bulk writer, queued for muse-ba review.
