About Tradvolt
Tradvolt publishes buyer-side research for companies that source lithium batteries, energy storage, solar photovoltaic equipment and EV charging hardware from China. The work is written for the person who has to justify a purchase decision, not for the seller.
What can you decide from this section? A procurement lead, EPC engineer, or finance reviewer can use this page to decide how to apply Tradvolt’s buyer-side reference library across lithium batteries, solar PV modules, string and hybrid inverters, and EV charging hardware—and where to draw the boundary between screening models and binding commercial commitments. Every Tradvolt study separates three layers of evidence: computed scenario outputs from our TCO engine (NPV, IRR, simple and discounted payback, LCOE, LCOS, and EV-versus-ICE TCO per km), primary-source technical and regulatory references (OEM datasheets and revision-locked manuals, IEC/UL standards, and WCO Harmonized System headings such as 8507.60, 8541.43, and 8504.40), and explicit bounded assumptions or open items marked PENDING — lookup for destination customs duties and VAT. Because Tradvolt publishes both viable and negative-NPV screening cases—and never acts as a paid ranking directory, customs broker, or certification body—you can audit every input before requesting a shipment-specific quote.

1. Understanding how Tradvolt builds and audits landed-cost, LCOE, LCOS, and EV-vs-ICE TCO models
Inspect the quantitative structure, cost lines, discounting rules, and explicit exclusions behind each equipment vertical:
- Cost modelling methods overview (shared evidence discipline)
- How landed cost is calculated (EXW/FOB to CIF/DDP cost lines)
- How battery and storage TCO is modelled (cycling, augmentation & LCOS)
- How solar PV TCO is modelled (specific yield, degradation & LCOE)
- How EV charging TCO is modelled (utilisation, grid works & TCO/km)
2. Inspecting our primary-source verification rules, claim tagging, and correction policy
See how sourced facts are separated from bounded assumptions and why negative-NPV studies remain published:
- How we model landed cost and total cost of ownership (5-step method)
- Supplier profiles framework (verification rules & non-paid inclusion)
- Worked negative-NPV screen: 2 MWp rooftop solar in India (LONGi Hi-MO 7 + Sungrow SG125HV)
- Worked utility BESS screen: 10 MWh SEA data center (CATL 280Ah + Sungrow ST2752UX)
3. Navigating corridor procurement guides and compliance SOPs by equipment vertical
Browse pre-shipment AQL checklists, IEC/UL/UN 38.3 verification workflows, and customs lookup paths by category:
- All commissioning, operating & compliance guides
- Batteries — landed cost & UN 38.3 / BESS procurement guides
- Solar modules — landed cost, IEC 61215 / 61730 & procurement guides
- Inverters — grid-code parameterization & selection guides
- EV chargers — OCPP interoperability & depot procurement guides
- Certification & compliance SOPs · Landed-cost & tariff guides
4. Moving from a non-binding reference model to a project-specific RFQ or use-case screen

What Tradvolt is
A research and reference resource. Each cost study takes a described scenario — an equipment class, a destination, an operating pattern — and sets out the cost lines, the sources used, the assumptions made, and the parts that remain unverified. Articles are structured so a reader can see which numbers are quoted, which are public-source data, which are scenario inputs, and which are calculated results.
Who it is written for
Importers, distributors, project developers and facility owners comparing supply routes into markets across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. Content is published in English, Spanish, German, French and Arabic.
What it publishes
Landed-cost and total-cost-of-ownership studies, operating and commissioning guides, and application studies by equipment class. The full inventory is browsable through the guides and cost guides directories, and the modelling approach is described in how we build a cost model.
How corrections are handled
Where a cited figure, standard reference or tariff treatment is found to be wrong or out of date, the article is revised and the change is reflected in its own content. Readers comparing a study against their own quote should treat any discrepancy as a reason to re-check the source rows on that page rather than assume either side is correct.
What Tradvolt is not
- Not a manufacturer, distributor or trading company. Nothing published here is an offer to sell.
- Not a certification body. A reference to a standard describes what a buyer should ask for; it does not establish that a specific product or production lot is certified.
- Not a customs broker or tax adviser. Duty classification, applicable rates and VAT treatment depend on the goods and destination and must be confirmed with the relevant authority or a qualified local adviser.
- Not a price list. Scenario figures are not quotations; only a supplier response to a specific enquiry is.
To ask about a specific shipment and receive a delivered-cost breakdown, use the quote request.
How a study is researched
A study starts from a described case — an equipment class, a destination, an operating pattern — and is built outward from what can be sourced: supplier material for the equipment, official publications for standards, and customs or tariff material for the border. Each of those is labelled with what it does and does not establish. What cannot be sourced becomes a stated assumption or an open item for the buyer, and it is shown as such on the page rather than smoothed over.
Every study is therefore falsifiable in a useful way: a reader who disagrees with a figure can see which input produced it and check that input against their own quote. Where a page has since been found wrong, it is corrected on the page rather than withdrawn quietly.
Frequently asked questions
- What is Tradvolt and who is the site built for?
- Tradvolt is an independent buyer-side sourcing research and reference resource for importers, distributors, EPC engineers, project developers, and facility owners procuring lithium batteries, stationary BESS, solar photovoltaic modules, inverters, and EV charging hardware from China across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.
- Are Tradvolt’s landed-cost and TCO pages binding commercial quotes or customs rulings?
- No. All financial outputs (NPV, IRR, simple and discounted payback, LCOE, LCOS, and EV-versus-ICE TCO per km) are scenario screening calculations derived from stated inputs, and all HS headings (such as 8507.60, 8541.43, and 8504.40) and duty/VAT rows marked
PENDING — lookupmust be confirmed with the national customs authority and a licensed broker before shipment. - How does Tradvolt distinguish verified technical facts from model assumptions?
- Every study separates primary-source technical citations (OEM datasheets, revision-locked installation manuals, and IEC/UL/UN 38.3 standards with evidence dates) from bounded scenario inputs (discount rate, specific yield, cycling profile, tariff escalation, and O&M reserves). Unavailable border rates remain explicitly marked as open items rather than filled with invented numbers.
- How are factual errors or outdated tariff/standard references corrected?
- When a cited datasheet figure, IEC/UL standard edition, or customs tariff reference is found to be inaccurate or superseded, Tradvolt revises the affected study directly on the page and updates its evidence log rather than withdrawing the article quietly. Both positive-NPV and negative-NPV screening models remain published so buyers can inspect the underlying arithmetic.
