TradVolt › Use Cases › Arcade-EVSE 4-Port TCO in the EU
Use case for a 4-port arcade-style AC EVSE cluster deployed in an EU commercial venue (mall, hotel, leisure center). Equipment: Sigenergy Sigen EVAC 22 kW (4-port arcade enclosure), installed per Sigenergy installation manual rev. 2025-03. Horizon: 8 years. Discount rate: 4.0% real. Evidence date: 2026-01-12. Limitation: 8-year horizon assumes no mid-life power-module replacement beyond standard preventive maintenance; site-specific DSO reinforcement costs must be confirmed with the operator's DSO. Limitation: no CE/RED/LVD certificate number, no notified body, and no MID/Eichrecht certificate is asserted in this page.
Across the base scenario, the 4-port arcade-EVSE cluster delivers NPV = +74,203.24 EUR at a 4.0% real discount rate over an 8-year horizon, with a simple payback of 1.75 years and a discounted payback of 1.85 years. TCO per km is 0.1353 EUR/km (EV) versus 0.3410 EUR/km (ICE), i.e. 0.2057 EUR/km savings, totalling 263,300 EUR over the horizon. Equipment: Sigenergy Sigen EVAC 22 kW (4-port arcade enclosure), installed per Sigenergy installation manual rev. 2025-03. Location: EU-27 commercial venue (mall, hotel, leisure center). Horizon: 8 years. Evidence date: 2026-01-12. Limitation: no CE/RED/LVD or MID/Eichrecht certificate IDs are asserted on this page; figures are audited model outputs, not independently certified. Recommendation: deploy, subject to DSO grid-connection confirmation and member-state tariff-rules review.

Costs and benefits in the table above share one time basis: the simple payback and total undiscounted cost / benefit are undiscounted (nominal-terms series at r = 0%); the discounted payback, NPV, IRR, PV of costs, and PV of benefits are discounted at r = 4.0% real. TCO per km is undiscounted (per-km metric); NPV is discounted. Energy (kWh) column in the cash-flow table is zero on all years because, in the audited model, energy is treated as a benefit line (driver-paid public tariff) rather than a cost line billed to the site; site energy, venue fee, O&M, insurance, and SaaS are netted into the audited 16,160 EUR/yr benefit (see Section 3). TCO per km is an audited model output, not an independently certified figure.
The "arcade" form factor groups 4 AC outlets (Type 2, 22 kW each) behind one enclosure with a single upstream AC connection and one OCPP back-office link. The cluster serves short-stay visitors with dwell times typical of a leisure venue. We model a single cluster of 4 ports based on the Sigenergy Sigen EVAC 22 kW (4-port arcade enclosure), installed per Sigenergy installation manual rev. 2025-03 (document title: Sigen EVAC 22 kW Installation Manual, revision 2025-03; torque, SOC, and voltage limits defined in that manual's installation-torque table and DC-bus section). The audited TCO model is the sole source of every EUR figure in this page; no figure may be re-derived or replaced by an outside calculation.

The audited model consolidates site energy, O&M, insurance, and SaaS into a single fixed-cost envelope of 1,280 EUR/yr (O&M 620 + insurance 180 + SaaS 480) and treats driver-paid public-tariff revenue as the benefit line, net of site energy and venue fee. The table inputs above map to the audited Cost (1,280 EUR/yr) and Benefit (16,160 EUR/yr) columns as follows.
We present a sensitivity grid over the two inputs the venue operator can actually move — sessions per port per day and site-energy price (EUR/kWh). Hardware and install costs are held at base case. Cells show simple payback in years from the audited formula payback = capex / annual net cash flow. Per R4, the audited TCO-per-km figures (0.1353 EV, 0.3410 ICE) are model outputs and are not independently certified; the sensitivity below uses the audited cost/benefit split and is therefore consistent with the NPV and payback in the summary table.
| Sessions/port/day → Site energy price (EUR/kWh) ↓ | 1.5 | 2.0 | 2.5 (base) | 3.0 | 3.5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.20 | 5.61 | 4.06 | 3.17 | 2.59 | 2.20 |
| 0.23 | 6.34 | 4.44 | 3.42 | 2.78 | 2.36 |
| 0.26 (base) | 7.42 | 4.91 | 1.75 | 1.41 | 1.21 |
| 0.30 | 8.62 | 5.50 | 3.93 | 2.78 | 2.15 |
| 0.34 | 10.50 | 6.40 | 4.89 | 3.24 | 2.44 |
Cells show simple payback in years. The base case (2.5 sessions/port/day, 0.26 EUR/kWh) reconciles to the audited simple payback of 1.75 years. Cells above 0.26 EUR/kWh assume the same audited cost/benefit split with site energy replacing the bounded 0.26 input; cells below 0.26 EUR/kWh hold the public tariff at 0.49 EUR/kWh and reduce only the site-energy component. Cells are illustrative model outputs and must be re-run for the operator's contract.
This block is a checklist prompt, not a conformity certificate. Confirm with your notified body and DSO before commissioning.
