Decision (this scenario, stand-alone kWh arbitrage): REJECT on stand-alone economics. NPV = -A$443,202.69 over 15 yr; IRR = -0.2233; simple payback = None; discounted payback = None; LCOS = A$0.7444/kWh. Equipment: 300kWh BESS (CATL EnerC LFP cabinet + Sungrow ST556HV-MF PCS). Location: Australia, golf-course reference load profile, Energex BVT1 tariff context. Horizon: 15 yr. Evidence date: 2026-09-22. Limitation: no PV coupling, no FCAS stacking, no demand-charge stream, no PPA revenue; figures below are the COMPUTED TABLES and override any prose arithmetic.

An 18-hole Australian golf course typically presents a summer afternoon peak driven by:
The 300kWh battery targets two value streams: peak shaving of the late-afternoon step and time-of-use shifting for the irrigation window. Stand-alone kWh arbitrage does not recover capex inside the 15-year horizon per the COMPUTED TABLES — see Section 4.

Energex BVT1, AER tariff escalations, DNSP demand-charge schedules and OEM datasheets must be re-validated against current published documents before any commercial quotation. The COMPUTED TABLES in section 4 are computed for the figures; the inputs above describe how the model was parameterised. Uncertain items (O&M escalation, residual value, charge cost, discharge value, augmentation) are flagged as bounded model assumptions.
The reference design names a specific OEM family rather than a generic "300kWh battery":
DC operating window assumptions used in the COMPUTED TABLES: nominal DC bus 716–1200 V for the ST556HV-MF; SOC window 10–90%; max continuous charge 150kW. These are bounded assumptions (model defaults) pending confirmation against the datasheet revision provided at RFQ stage.

These tables are the COMPUTED TABLES provided to this page. Copy verbatim; no other financial figures appear elsewhere in this document.
No other financial figure, derivation, or headline payback is asserted on this page. Prose explanations in section 6 are narrative only; they do not introduce new numbers.
The COMPUTED TABLES result from the bounded inputs in section 2: A$480,000 capex (A$ ex-GST), A$6,000/yr O&M escalating at 1.5% real, and a benefit stream driven by 330 cycles/yr against 90% DoD at 92% round-trip, repriced at the Energex BVT1 indicative blend. Cumulative net benefit remains negative across every year through Year 15, which is why simple and discounted payback both read None and NPV is negative. The marginal value of stand-alone kWh arbitrage at this capex-to-avoided-kWh ratio does not clear the 7% real hurdle inside 15 years.
The economics would shift under different bounded inputs, for example:
These are reference levers, not modelled scenarios — each would require its own COMPUTED TABLES before any commercial number is cited.

How to look up the current duty rate for the AU destination: open the ABF home → Working Tariff → enter the 6-digit HS code → confirm the Schedule 3 general rate and any Schedule 4 FTA preference for the country of origin. For non-AU destinations use: EU TARIC; US USITC HTS; UK UK Global Tariff; Japan Japan Customs; South Africa SARS; Ghana GRA; Uganda URA. HS nomenclature basis: WCO HS Nomenclature 2022 edition.
Shipping terms frame: ICC Incoterms 2020; dangerous goods per the IATA DGR; wood packaging per IPPC ISPMs; freight documentation per FIATA; cargo insurance clauses per IUA Institute Cargo Clauses.
Disclaimer: Duty rates change. Tradvolt does not assert any rate as fact on this page; resolve the general rate and any FTA preference with a live ABF lookup before any commercial quotation references an inbound duty figure.
