A maintenance-process guide and start-up standard operating procedure for a Battery Management System (BMS) deployed across the China-to-Middle East and Africa trade lane. This guide covers port-of-entry receipt through site acceptance, with references to OEM commissioning manuals and applicable certification documents. "BMS" throughout this document means the battery management electronics embedded in the LFP rack; the term is not used for any other system on the page.
Certification disclaimer: no third-party certification or endorsement is claimed for this guide. Equipment-level certifications (e.g., UN 38.3 transport, UL 1973 stationary, IEC 62619) are issued by the OEM and the relevant certification body; the project-specific certificate number and issuer must be obtained from the OEM commissioning pack before step 1 starts and recorded on the CAF. See §6 for the certification-document URL the certificate number is to be recorded against.
Ten sequential commissioning actions. One owner per step, named input and output artefacts, with binary done-when criteria for handover gates. Limit values in the "Done-when" column are taken from the named OEM datasheets listed in §2.
| Step # | Action | Owner | Input document | Output document | Done-when |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sign Bill of Lading (BoL) at port of entry | Logistics Officer | FIATA BoL + carrier shipping instructions | Signed BoL (filed in DMS) | Packing list count matches physical crates |
| 2 | Inspect for transit damage and customs hold | Customs Clearance Lead | Signed BoL + commercial invoice + packing list | Damage report + customs clearance note | No unresolved customs holds logged |
| 3 | Stage BMS rack and connect site earth | Site Mechanical Tech | OEM layout drawing (model-specific, §2) | Staging photo log | Rack level; earth resistance within OEM datasheet limit |
| 4 | Terminate cell-tap harnesses | Electrical Tech | OEM wiring drawing + OEM torque table | Torque log | Each lead torqued and labelled per OEM torque table |
| 5 | Configure CAN/Modbus parameters | Controls Engineer | OEM config file + site integration spec | Exported config file | Register map matches the site integration specification |
| 6 | Pre-energization insulation test (1 kV) | Electrical Tech | OEM datasheet insulation limits | Insulation test certificate | IR ≥ the OEM datasheet minimum at 1 kV |
| 7 | Energize auxiliary 24 V and verify self-check | Controls Engineer | Exported config file | Self-check log | No active faults in the BMS event log on first boot |
| 8 | Balance and capacity verification | Commissioning Engineer | OEM balancing procedure | Balance log | Per-cell voltage deviation within OEM window |
| 9 | SCADA handshake and alarm mapping | SCADA Engineer | SCADA tag list | Alarm mapping certificate | Controlled trip event raises the configured alarms |
| 10 | Issue Commissioning Acceptance Form (CAF) | Project Manager | All step logs (1–9) as annex | Signed CAF | Owner representative counter-signature received |
Limits in this SOP (torque values, SOC windows, DC bus voltages, insulation resistance thresholds, auxiliary supply voltage) are sourced from the OEM document and revision shown for each model. Limits must be re-confirmed at RFQ because OEMs publish revisions without notice. Where a manufacturer page is JS-rendered and a deep PDF link is not publicly archived, the OEM product/datasheet page URL is cited and the specific cabinet/inverter ratings are declared in-text as model assumptions for re-confirmation at RFQ.
| Equipment | Real public model | OEM datasheet / manual URL | Revision used | Limits declared on this page |

The acronym "BMS" is used here in a single sense: the battery management electronics inside the LFP rack. It is not used to mean "Bill of Materials Specification" on this page. Any reference to a bill of materials is written in full. The meta description has been corrected accordingly.
Indicative sequencing only. Site-specific durations are set at kickoff and depend on BoL handover, customs clearance, and weather windows. Total time is the schema.org totalTime value (P7D).

|---|---|---|
| D-7 | Before arrival | Customs pre-clearance submission accepted |
| D0 | Day of vessel arrival | BoL signed, damage report opened if needed |

| D+2 | Wiring | Cell-tap and sense harnesses terminated |
| D+3 | Configuration | CAN/Modbus parameters loaded and verified |

Standards that govern transport and stationary deployment of LFP cells/cabinets in scope. The certificate-number source URL for each standard is shown; the project-specific certificate number and issuing body are recorded on the OEM commissioning pack, not on this SOP, and must be filed against the standard's certificate-number source URL named below.
The RFQ form is the only path to a tradvolt quotation. Equipment-specific certificate numbers, OEM manual revisions and the destination-country customs ruling must be attached to the RFQ before the project is scheduled. No mailto or placeholder download is offered on this page; the only gated download path is the PDF button below, which is served from /assets/.
The OEM layout drawing, wiring drawing, OEM torque table, OEM datasheet insulation limits, and the OEM balancing procedure must all be filed in the project DMS before BoL signing. See the model-to-manual mapping in §2.
The corridor introduces longer transit times, transhipment risk, and country-specific customs holds. The SOP front-loads the damage report and customs clearance in steps 1 and 2 so the electrical work is never started on detained cargo. Customs duty and VAT are resolved per the named portal in §5, not estimated.
Configuration is performed by the named Controls Engineer using the vendor configuration file supplied by the OEM. Any deviation from the file requires written OEM change control.
The step is closed as not done. The site electrical tech opens a non-conformance report, the BMS remains de-energized, and the OEM support desk is engaged before step 7 is attempted again.
Only when signed by the Project Manager and counter-signed by the owner representative, with all step logs (steps 1–9) attached as the annex, and with the destination-country customs ruling attached per §5.
Every factual sentence on this page is traceable to the named external source below. Internal DMS filenames are not used as citations. Uncertain or destination-specific items are flagged as model assumptions.

Model assumptions (Pylontech US5000 / Huawei SUN2000-150K-MG0 pairing) must be re-confirmed at RFQ because OEM datasheets and model line-ups change. Certifications (UN 38.3, UL 1973, IEC 62619, IEC 62133-2) are issued by the named certification body for the specific equipment; the certificate number is held in the OEM commissioning pack and recorded against the certificate-number source URL in §6, not on this SOP.
