ESS Cooling Test — Maintenance Process for the CN→Sea Export Corridor R14

Decision (R14, evidence-date 2026-09-22). Use this 9-step, 5-day SOP to perform pre-shipment cooling-loop verification on Huawei LUNA2000-200-S0 / LUNA2000-215-S0 ESS cabinets (battery cabinets) moving on the mainland-China → sea-freight corridor (typical ports: Shanghai, Ningbo-Zhoushan, Shenzhen-Yantian). The OEM reference document for this build is Huawei Service Manual 31500YCK-EN-V01, Rev.A (2024-03), filed under §2. HS classification and destination-market MFN duty rates are destination-dependent and must be looked up via the tariff portals listed in §7. Limitation: this SOP covers the cooling subsystem only — DC electrical commissioning, fire-suppression pressure-vessel testing and transport securing are separate procedures.

Audience: QA leads, field service technicians and export packing supervisors handling stationary battery ESS cabinets exported by sea from mainland China.

Scope notice. This SOP is built for the Huawei LUNA2000-200/215-S0 family (battery cabinets) only. For other OEM families (e.g. CATL EnerC, Sungrow PowerTitan / ST2752UX, BYD MC Cube, EVE battery cabinets) the cooling-loop topology, controller interface and OEM tolerances differ — do not apply this SOP verbatim. Where a numeric tolerance is required for the LUNA2000 but is not yet captured, the row is marked PENDING and must be confirmed against Huawei Service Manual 31500YCK-EN-V01 Rev.A (2024-03) before the step is executed.

All numeric tolerances in §3 (coolant concentration band, leak-test pressure, dwell time, delta-T band, firmware baseline version) are pulled from Section 6 — Cooling Loop Service of Huawei Service Manual 31500YCK-EN-V01 Rev.A (2024-03). Where a slot is not yet transcribed into the inspection sheet, the row is marked PENDING and must be filled against the manual revision named above before this SOP is executed against a live cabinet.

8. Frequently asked questions

8.1 Who owns the process end-to-end?

QA Lead owns sign-off (Steps 6–9). Field Service Tech owns Steps 1–5. Step ownership never overlaps.

8.2 What if Huawei Service Manual 31500YCK-EN-V01 Rev.A (2024-03) is not on site?

Halt Step 2 and escalate. Do not infer tolerances. The applicability note must reference the revision string physically present in the warehouse share drive and dated within the current revision window.

8.3 Can thermal and leak tests run in parallel?

No. The leak test (Step 5) must close first; a pressure-decay event during a thermal cycle can mask or invalidate temperature readings.

8.4 Where does the evidence travel?

The signed service-report-[SERIAL].pdf and pre-shipment-clearance-[SERIAL].pdf ride inside the shipment folder; a printed copy is also attached to the inside of the cabinet door in a sealed document pouch. ISPM 15 (wood packaging) and ICC Incoterms 2020 obligations are handled separately by the export packing line — see IPPC ISPM standards and ICC Incoterms 2020.

8.5 How often should the cooling loop be serviced on the corridor?

Interval is set by Section 6 of Huawei Service Manual 31500YCK-EN-V01 Rev.A (2024-03). This SOP does not override OEM intervals.

8.6 Does this SOP cover other ESS cabinets (CATL, Sungrow, BYD, EVE)?

No. Cooling-loop topology, controller interface and OEM tolerances differ between families. Use this SOP only for Huawei LUNA2000-200-S0 / LUNA2000-215-S0 cabinets. For other families, request a model-specific SOP via the RFQ link.

9. Call to action
