Decision / Answer (read first). All TradVolt CN→SA LFP shipments must be booked as UN 3480 / UN 3481 Class 9 dangerous goods using the 12-step document sequence below; customs duty and shipment-specific HS code are PENDING lookup against the ZATCA / FASAH Saudi customs tariff and the Chinese GACC tariff at booking (TradVolt does not quote duty). Reference equipment family for SOP limits: EVE LF304 prismatic LFP cell (3.2 V nominal, 304 Ah; 173.7 × 71.7 × 207.2 mm; 5 450 g; 4 000 cycles @25 °C to ≥80 %) per the EVE LF304 product specification (evemall.com), packaged into the BYD MC Cube / HVS / HVM commercial-industrial LFP cabinets per BYD Energy Storage (cabinet rating + manual revision confirmed at RFQ). Limits (SoC, torque, DC-bus voltage, isolation) are taken from the EVE LF304 Product Specification and the BYD MC Cube Installation & Service Manual Rev. 2.1 (2024-11); the exact model and manual revision for any shipment are confirmed at RFQ submission.

Scope. This Standard Operating Procedure governs how TradVolt books dangerous-goods (DG) air/sea cargo and assembles the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) pack for LFP battery storage systems, battery modules, BMS components, and spare parts shipped from mainland China to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It applies to commercial quotations, internal handoffs, freight forwarder engagement, and customs pre-clearance documentation.

1. Purpose & Applicability

LFP cells and assembled packs are classified as Class 9 dangerous goods (UN 3480 / UN 3481) under the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (UN Model Regulations Rev. 21), plus UN 38.3 in the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria, ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.7. All TradVolt shipments on the CN→SA corridor must be planned, documented, and booked through the sequence below before cargo physically moves. Any deviation requires the Logistics Lead written approval.

This SOP is used by: Logistics Coordinator (LC), Documentation Officer (DO), Freight Forwarder (FF), Compliance Officer (CO), and the Customer Success Lead (CSL).

Important. Do not treat this block as a quotation of duty. The HS code is finalised at booking per the receiver-side broker's ruling.

• Request Quote — replies in 48 h. Use the form at /rfq/. Include the model (e.g. EVE LF304 cell pack or BYD MC Cube / HVS / HVM cabinet), kWh per unit, quantity, and Incoterm.

• State of Charge (SoC) limit on cells. LFP cells shipped standalone or in equipment must respect the ≤ 30 % SoC limit set by IATA DGR Section 4.2 (PIs 965–967) and IMDG SP 188. Confirm the OEM datasheet SoC setting (EVE LF304 shipping SoC: 30 % per spec) before booking.
• Damaged or defective cells. Forbidden on passenger aircraft; CAO-only per IATA DGR Section 4.2.
• Country-of-origin documentation. CoO must come from the China Chamber of Commerce or equivalent authorised body.
• Pre-arrival timing. SABER CoC reference must be active before arrival; expired references cause container hold at port.
• Inconsistent part numbers. UN 38.3 test summary must reference the exact cell part number (e.g. EVE LF304 PN). Mismatch = shipment refusal.
• Torque / voltage limits. Cabinet torques, DC bus voltages and isolation values follow BYD MC Cube Installation & Service Manual Rev. 2.1 (2024-11); the exact cabinet rating is confirmed at RFQ. Cell mechanical limits (case dimensions 173.7 × 71.7 × 207.2 mm, mass 5 450 g) per EVE LF304 product specification.

All files listed in § 3, the forwarder quote PDF, the booking confirmation, and the closeout file 99_Shipment_Closeout.pdf are retained for a minimum of 7 years per the UN Model Regulations (S1) and FIATA documentation guidance (S8). Storage path: SHP_CN-SA_<YYYYMMDD>_<PO> on the TradVolt document management system.

Changes to this SOP require the Compliance Officer and the Logistics Lead joint sign-off and a new revision letter (A, B, C…). The change is published as an updated PDF; the previous revision is moved to archive.
